WHO WE ARE
We are Jess, Stephen, Zoey and Calista Bird and we are 3rdGenBlinds. Jess is the 3rd generation in her family to be selling custom window treatments. We are the first generation, however, to be selling retail. Jess' father and grandfather began their businesses in the wholesale blind industry and we are so grateful to be able to bring their beautiful products right to your door as the first retailers in our family.
We are a fully shop-at-home business which means no storefront and no overhead which helps us keep our costs down to give our customers one-of-a-kind experiences at a great price. As a local business we provide window treatment and interior design services in and around (but not limited to) Chester, Montgomery, Bucks, and Delaware Counties.

JESSICA BIRD - CO-FOUNDER / DESIGNER / CONSULTANT
Jessica and Stephen started 3rdGenBlinds out of their home. With her Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design and growing up in the family business, Jessica decided it was time to start her own division of selling window treatments and hop on the entrepreneur train herself. STEPHEN BIRD - CO-FOUNDER / THE MAN BEHIND THE SCENES
With a background in Aviation maintenance, Stephen is one of the most technical guys you’ll ever meet. Having worked at Carson Helicopters and Sikorsky Global Helicopters (now Lockheed Martin), his attention to detail is what makes him perfect for this job! Stephen started at 3rdGenBlinds as an installer but as business grew, his role morphed into a behind the scenes job. Stephen is now on the back end of the business helping with order entry and confirmation.
As of Spring 2020, he is also the proud new owner of Calizo Home, an incredibly reputable outdoor furniture small business. CHET - PROFESSIONAL INSTALLER
When Chet isn’t spending time with his 5 boys (yes you read that right!) he’s our right hand man! With a lifetime of experience (literally!) working in and around the window covering industry, Chet is a wiz when it comes to installing window treatments. His expertise and attention to detail make him the perfect person addition to our team. Chet is trusted most with our beautiful custom draperies, blinds and shade installations. Rest assured you’re in good hands when Chet is on the job! We’re grateful to have Chet on board since 2019.
JILL - ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Jill eagerly joined our team in 2023 and has truly been a lifesaver (and timesaver) for us in so many ways. As Jess’ go-to for all things admin, Jill is not only perfect for the job, but she is also Jess’ Sister In Law! In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband Steven and their Silver Lab - Tessa! She is a creative and has a passion for making beautiful things! She also lends her green thumb to her summer garden where she grows all kinds of vegetables. Though you will be seeing Jess and Julie at consultations, you will likely heavily interact with Jill in the process and we know you’ll love her as much as we do!
LINDSAY - MARKETING STRATEGIST
Lindsay has more than a decade of experience managing and executing content plans. Currently, she is a self-employed consultant who works on content with clients in various industries. In addition to 3rdGenBlinds, Lindsay manages content strategy for Twist Out Cancer, Rutgers Alternate Route, and Rapid Growth Media. She launched her business, Blackstar Communications, in Philadelphia, and currently lives in Michigan. In her free time, Lindsay loves being a fun aunt to four nephews. She also enjoys exploring nature and cities with her husband, cuddling her two dogs, and making art.
