Behind the scenes of our new video!

I’ve had a lot of people ask me what I do, or what goes into an average day. While each day is different for small-business owners, you can usually find me connecting with clients. Whether that’s coming over for a complimentary in-home consultation, answering questions over text, helping out with the installation process or just checking in on the final result, people are the core of my business. So, when I decided to invest in a short video about my business, I turned to my local community.

Fall is here!

The weather is changing, the leaves are falling and the temperatures are dropping. When the draft comes in the heat goes on and if you're anything like me, I don't fair well with the cold weather. There are numerous ways to protect your home from that bitter cold draft. Read below to see some of the best window treatments to help keep you warm when it's cold outside.

  1. CELL SHADES: There aren't enough good things to can say about cell shades. They are by far our #1 product when it comes to insulation! Light filtering cell shades allow you to still get plenty of daylight through while keeping out the sun's damaging rays. This may sound funny because when we thing of the sun's damaging rays, we think sunburn in the summer, but the sun can damage your furniture just as much as it can damage your skin. Your furniture and floors become bleached and brittle over time with exposure to the sun. Cell shades block the rays but allow you to still have plenty of light, protecting your floors and furniture. Our custom cell shades are measured to fit each window perfectly so there is little to no draft coming through when your shades are closed. Our cell shades come in a few different options. We have a smaller pleat (3/8"), a larger pleat (9/16"), double cell and a room darkening option to choose from in many different colors.

  2. PLANTATION SHUTTERS: Norman's plantation shutter collection is made in such a way that when they are closed, they are tighter than most any other brand. When measured and installed properly, plantation shutters create as much room darkening features as cell shades. While they are a much more permanent treatment for your windows. They are often referred to as "furniture for your windows". They are the original child-safe product due in part to the fact that there are no cords what-so-ever! They are extremely durable and long lasting. Shutters come in a few different styles and sizes from 1 1/2", 1 7/8", 2 1/2", 3 1/2", and 4 1/2" louvers. They also come in a wide variety of whites and stained colors, and you can choose between having a tilt bar or doing invisible tilt.

  3. ROMAN SHADES AND DRAPERIES: Our roman shades and draperies are made with fabrics that can be extremely insulating if measured and installed properly. We offer a wonderfully insulating liner for our fabrics that are used with roman shades and drapery panels. They are so insulating in fact, that when draped with our beautiful fabric, your window will feel like it's being wrapped in a warm blanket. (How cozy does that sound!)
