Behind the scenes of our new video!

I’ve had a lot of people ask me what I do, or what goes into an average day. While each day is different for small-business owners, you can usually find me connecting with clients. Whether that’s coming over for a complimentary in-home consultation, answering questions over text, helping out with the installation process or just checking in on the final result, people are the core of my business. So, when I decided to invest in a short video about my business, I turned to my local community.

Videographer Danielle Cesare is someone I’ve wanted to work with for a while. What makes Danielle unique is how she connects with her clients. Filming was an intimate experience and Danielle took the time to get to know my family in order to encapsulate a perfect picture of who we are and what we stand for. She really helped us do a good job culminating in the essence of 3rdGen Blinds and who I am as a human, mother, wife and entrepreneur.

Filming is only part of the equation, though. I wanted the video to have music that supported Danielle’s vision, so I decided to support those who had supported me. I love using the resources I have to do projects, so I turned to musician Ian Koteles. I met Ian’s wife four years ago and they ended up hiring 3rdGen Blinds for their home. Our children were in school together last year, so I knew Ian could capture the family vibe 3rdGen Blinds is all about.

When choosing services, there is something special about going with local talent. The care and focus on relationship building that small business owners incorporate into their values is something that can’t be replicated. I am grateful for the collaborative and creative time I had with Danielle and Ian, and the beautiful video that came as a result.

Thank you for reading,
